HPL Supernova, the practical use of mode "far" on the Subaru Forester

In the car the turn signals installed HPL Supernova instead of standard cartridges turns.
Main functions — DRL/taillight/turn.
There is a "bonus" feature — the distant signal, which includes a white light "on all cylinders" (22 watt) for 1.5 h, and then, if far off, reduces brightness to the DRL mode. When switched off, far, at night it switches back to the mode envelope.
The result is a stand-in far.
As it turned out, in practice, the function itself is quite useful for "help" far in the near field.

Dima, thank you :)
